Hundreds of Various Weapons and Ammunition Seized In Herat Province

The Counter-Terrorism Police of the Herat Provincial Police Command, during several separate operations in the center and all 19 districts of the province over the past 6 months, have discovered and confiscated more than 160 pieces of different types of weapons and ammunition.
Mullah Abdulhadi Mukhlis, Head of Counter-Terrorism at the Herat Provincial Police Command, stated that the seized items include:

122 pistols, 
22 Kalashnikov rifles, 
11 shotguns, 
7 PK machine guns, 
7,000 rounds of heavy machine gun ammunition. 
After being discovered and collected, the weapons and ammunition were handed over to the DIAC (weapons registration department).
