High-ranking Ministry of Interior delegation attends and delivers speech at China International Security Conference
A high-ranking delegation from the Ministry of Interior, led by the ministry’s Director General of the Office, Lieutenant General Mawlavi Zainullah Abir, and the ministry’s Senior Adviser, General Mawlavi Abdul Rahim Saqib, attended an international security conference in the People’s Republic of China.
In his speech, the Ministry of Interior representative said that the world is currently facing numerous complex security challenges, including wars, hostile groups, narcotics, organized crime, cyber threats, illegal migration and other security problems, and that joint cooperation among countries is essential to prevent them.
He said that after decades of war and instability, Afghanistan has now entered a new phase of security and stability, and that the security institutions of the Islamic Emirate are working across the country to protect people’s lives and property and maintain public order.
The Ministry of Interior representative added that Afghanistan does not want its territory to be used to create insecurity against any country, and that the country’s security forces have the capability to prevent all forms of insecurity within Afghanistan and suppress those who disrupt security.
Addressing regional security, he stressed that Afghanistan’s security is inseparably linked to the security of the region, and that relations among countries based on mutual respect, non-interference, good-neighborliness and joint security cooperation can contribute to regional stability, trade and economic development.
Regarding the expansion of security cooperation with China, he said that Afghanistan seeks to further strengthen relations with China based on the shared security and economic interests of the two countries and is ready to expand cooperation against narcotics, organized crime, smuggling and other common security threats.
The measures taken by Afghanistan in combating narcotics were also highlighted, with emphasis that the fight to eliminate this phenomenon is a shared responsibility of Afghanistan and the international community. In this regard, the international community was called upon to provide practical cooperation with Afghanistan in alternative crops, agriculture and economic opportunities.
The Ministry of Interior representative also emphasized strengthening communication among security institutions, the exchange of experience, professional training and the responsible sharing of intelligence regarding emerging security threats.
At the conclusion, he said that the message of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is clear: Afghanistan wants peace, security and economic development and supports regional and international security based on mutual respect, shared responsibility and common interests.
