Long-Standing Disputes Resolved in Balkh, Laghman, and Panjshir Provinces

Several long-standing disputes were peacefully resolved in the provinces of Balkh, Laghman, and Panjshir through the efforts of local authorities, religious scholars, tribal elders, and community leaders.

In Balkh Province, a ten-year feud between residents of an area in the provincial capital and a family from Sar-e Pol Province was brought to an end. During a reconciliation ceremony attended by local officials, religious scholars, and community elders, both parties embraced one another and agreed to restore friendly relations.

Similarly, in Alingar District of Laghman Province, a decade-long dispute between two families was peacefully settled through the mediation of local authorities, religious scholars, and tribal elders. Both sides forgave one another and formally reconciled.

Meanwhile, in Hesa-e-Awal District of Panjshir Province, a dispute between local residents and Kuchi nomads over grazing land was resolved through the efforts of the provincial Director of Border, Tribal, and Ethnic Affairs, together with members of a local jirga.

During the reconciliation efforts, officials of the Islamic Emirate encouraged the public to promote unity, brotherhood, and social cohesion, and urged citizens to resolve their disputes through dialogue and traditional jirgas.
